State-of-the-Art Facilities

MXI has made a significant investment in this state-of-the-art facility.
MXI Environmental Services has opened its new 24,000-sq. ft. Permit by Rule Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) at 26319 Old Trail Road, Abingdon, VA.

The 11.5-acre site is gated and completely enclosed. The facility also has state-of-the-art containment for accidental releases. The MRF is capable of handling 200 tons of waste that can be received as bulk or in drums, cartons, or palletized loads.

MXI also holds a license from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) to operate a distillation column for ethanol. This column allows for single-stop service for all generators who need waste ethanol recycled including bulk and drummed waste. When combined with our Decontainerization equipment, MXI can recover ethanol from consumer-packaged goods.

"Opening this facility represents a significant commitment by MXI to providing its customers with a single source for waste transportation and disposal," says Ron Potter, MXI's president. "Our customers have asked for and appreciate this convenience."

"We take title to the waste once we receive it and the customer's obligation stops," says Scott Shaw, the MRF manager. "Many other firms can't offer this."

Treatment and disposal methods vary, depending on the type of waste.
