Waste to Fuel
MXI has the ability to take in waste streams containing alcohol and recapture the ethanol using distillation. The ethanol is processed into fuel grade ethanol onsite with a molecular sieve. MXI’s Ethanol Recycling unit helps provide energy security on a national level while reducing the amount of waste destined for incineration or landfill. MXI is proud that our Ethanol Division contributes to our national energy security while providing for a cleaner world for the next generation.
Distilled Spirits Plant
MXI’s Distilled Spirits Plant (DSP) has a new distillation column capable of processing over 10,000 gallons of waste water a day and is fully permitted by the ATF. The DSP is located adjacent to MXI’s Materials Recovery Facility and works in tandem to receive and depack incoming waste streams. MXI’s facilities are top notch and we offer tours for audits and inspections upon request.
No Waste Water
MXI has invested in cutting edge technology, a Mechanical Vapor Recompression Evaporator, to become the only facility of its kind in the country that can recapture ethanol from waste streams without producing any waste water. The evaporator separates the water from the sugars, colorings, and starches in the feed, and reuses it as steam. MXI also separates and recycles all recyclable incoming materials, including packaging materials, pallets, and shrink wrap. This process makes us the most green service provider in our field.
